Service Center Buyer is responsible for sourcing activities supporting Raw Material - Steel commodity. Knowledge of commodity is a plus, but not a requirement.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Responsible for Flat Sheet Steel Product procurement for Direct and Resale locations
- Lead and conclude Steel Sourcing process (RFQ, Allocation, Sourcing Recommendation)
- Take a key role in Annual Service Center Steel Contract negotiations
- Lead the resolution and negotiations of commercial issues
- Provide full support to Steel Service Centers covering operations in US, CA and MX;
- Execute Quarterly Price Adjustments
- Manage and support Steel Supply issues (shortages)
- Support Cross-functional teams in different activities such as TCR/Business case study etc.
- Basic Excel knowledge is a must for this position.
The selected candidate will interact with many cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and Finance.
Job Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Marketing, Economics, International Business, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Engineering, or related discipline
- Negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically
- Analytical skills
- Experience in working in cross-functional teams
- Well organized, self-motivated, and resourceful managing complex situations
- Ability to support all aspects of the commercial relationship with the supply base and key internal stakeholders
- Must be skilled at relationship building, cost analysis, negotiation (both internal and external), benchmarking, time management and presentations to all levels of management
